Homeless Services Program

The RBSCC Homeless Services program offers an empowering and sustainable alternative to families who are residing in the New York City Department of Homeless Services shelters. We offer families rapid re-housing from DHS shelters, access to city and state housing subsidies, comprehensive case management services, and on-site job training and education services. This innovative initiative will result in improved outcomes for families in shelters, allowing them to quickly return to permanent housing.

Program Highlights: Within seven months, our team of dedicated case managers have relocated 46 families previously living in a homeless shelter, into permanent housing.

Success Story: When Remeeka Beal began working with HomeBase in March 2010, she was unemployed and living in an NYC homeless shelter. RBSCC staff encouraged Rameeka to enroll into our Career Pathways program where she earned a security guard license. Our dedicated staff assisted Remeeka to secure an apartment in Brooklyn, move out of the homeless shelter, and gain full-time employment as a security guard.
