Brownsville Homebase

The program assists community residents from Brownsville who are at-risk of homelessness to access resources, stabilize their housing, and find community based solutions as an alternative to entering shelter.

RBSCC staff have provided homelessness prevention services to more than 129 families in the past 9 months.

Success Stories:

Our client is a single mother supporting four children on her own. Over the past several months, her landlord has attempted to evict her twice due to a hold over on her apartment. With no other financial resources to depend on and the threat of entering shelter, she came to the Brownsville HomeBase program for help. The RBSCC staff provided counseling, access to financial assistance, and facilitated relocation to a new apartment. She also enrolled into Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA) training through our Career Pathways program to further her career within the medical field. She is currently working to complete the CNA training.
